Considering that you can buy a ZXF combo for a fair bit less than an S4 and you have similar functionality once you get your maps sorted out.TRAKTOR KONTROL F1 is the definitive hardware for controlling the powerful Remix Decks in TRAKTOR PRO 2.5. Because of this I don't think home based DJs consider modular controller based set ups as a serious option when they are actually a really budget friendly way to get hardware control of Traktor or whatever software you're using. Also, I think people want / expect to see jogwheels on their hardware, whether they use them or not. There are heaps of Traktor maps for them floating around.įWIW, you don't see set ups like this (modular controllerist setups) very often and I think it's because they're a PITA to take on the road - clubs don't want you coming in with a bunch of extra hardware and trying find somewhere to put it, they just want you to play their CDJs/1200s and get on with it. How useful the F1 would be to somebody learning the craft is debatable, but having it will open up more options later on if you want to use remix decks or more FX units, a sequencer, etc.Īlso consider a pair of Xone K2s if they're cheap in your area - they can be used as a 4 deck controller and a 4 channel mixer, or some columns for FX if you like.
